The Importance of 702 Collection in the Intelligence Community
CIA Director Mike Pompeo: 702 is a statute that allows the government to collect intelligence information on foreign persons outside the United States. He says it provides indications and warnings of threatening activities by adversaries so that we can inform the president, senior policymakers about what's happening in the world. "It allows us to do that with precision, with speed while respecting the rights of Americans," he said.
