Simbad was carried to a valley filled with giant snakes by a giant bird who subsequently fought a giant snake. In the valley of the diamonds, there are people that fling cut up animals over the edge in hopes that they'll land and some of the diamonds will stick in the animals' blood and flesh. They somehow managed to retrieve the diamonds because Simbad knew that these men were supposedly wealthy.
