The Importance of the Gospel

Paul: The gospel is not human wisdom, but God the Father's revealed wisdom. It concerns Christ and His redemptive work, especially His death and resurrection. Though the Spirit is not expressly mentioned, the gospel is spoken of as a message of personal salvation. He emphatically concludes that those who want to make a good showing in the flesh would force you to be circumcised.
