The Importance of Recognizing Our Need for Instant Reward
Our constant need to get a reward ends up lowering our baseline dopamine. It also works in the detriment that you're not going out there looking for a dopamine hit, but you're getting it anyway. There is evidence to say that when you are constantly rewarding yourselves so quickly without working for it, the reward doesn't hit the same. So over time, you do get less of this dopamine hit.
