His father was an investment banker, they were quite shielded from the first world war. But then immediately afterwards, there was a communist revolution in hungary. They flee budapest for a while, but then come back. By 19 30, he's had an incredibly lucrative job offer from princeton. So he decides to leave, and he goes to the states. And really that's where much of the work that he did happened. Some of that is massive consulting for the military, and some of its pure maths,. The incredible side jects that he had going on. He would have such a huge impact on subsequent history.
