Why Public Private Partnerships Don't Work
LZ Granderson: Lots of politicians like to tout these so called public private partnerships. He says the idea behind them is that the kind of public side will sort of reign in the excesses of the private side, but it doesn't actually work. LZ: The arguments for public private partnerships are several. They'll have skin in the game and they'll make sure costs stay down. But there's only one place you get that money - taxes, tolls, and fees. There's no other magic money.
