Sidi Mimbarik was born into a small village in East Africa. He was Yao, but he was kidnapped and enslaved when he was just a child. After the man who owned him died, he was given his freedom and he made his way back to East Africa. That's where he met Burton and speak. With all of their advantages and ambition, he would become one of the most accomplished guides and explorers in the history of African exploration.
