The History of the Split Between Tito and Stalin

In 1948, there was a bitter public split between Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union. Stalin denounced Tito as a renegade and called for his overthrow. The Yugoslavia held on to power and led Yugoslavia out of the Soviet camp. Today, Belgrade residents line up for hours to see American movies where so recently only Soviet propaganda films played.
