People always associate Edward the third's military successes with those of his grandfather, Edward the first. But to me, I just wonder whether some of Edward's obsession with theatricality and camaraderie doesn't actually rather come from Roger Mortimer. A lot of Edward's personality is a shape not by somebody he didn't know, but by people he did know.
