Adrian Proust was a doctor and he was also the father of you know a famous asthmatic plus hypercontriarch as well. He always seemed to me a sort of classic 19th century heavily bearded, whiskery figure of obtuse authority. That shows out to be so not the case. And it was again it was when I was reading about these international sanctuary conferences which he didn't find but he became a great mover and shaker in the belief that you would not actually be able to come to grips with cholera unless you impose what we would you know call a quarantine.
