Is Ha Tami Really the Real Participant of the Revolutionary Legacy?
Ha Tami was elected president of Iran in 1997 on a platform of pluralism and taking back the legacy of the revolution. Daniel Treisman: Ha Tami represents an effort to say, hey, these people who are empowered now are not actually the real sort of inheritors of the revolutionary legacy. He says there is a sense of euphoria on Klaatami's victory; 80% go out en masse to vote for him.Treisman: People believe in his desire to change the system and to reform it from within.
