i have another theory, or at least i have some smatterings of a potential direction. When i was an undergraduate a, which was probably not all that different on terms of timethan when you were an undergraduate a,. atmospheric science and meteorology and climate science didn't really have a great reputation. It wasn't something that the best and the brightest were naturally drawn to - so in so far as one is thinking about one's future academically.
