How to Qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness

He is not working at a place where he would qualify for public loan forgiveness. He just started a job with a county and it could be, but then when I entered my, our income into a calculator and they said it was too high to qualify. So that's what's very weird about it. Is there a way to push down your income so that you could qualify number one? Or does it make sense to file married separately, and that way he would qualify?
