Introduction

This chapter analyzes recent military strikes in the Middle East by the US and UK, questioning their purpose and suggesting they are aimed at appeasing neoconservatives. It argues that these strikes lack clear diplomatic or policy goals and are instead a costly media operation, revealing that the US and UK are deterred by Iran despite claiming to deter Iran themselves.
