Is Heschel a Good Leader?
heschel spoke about god in a way that i find more than compelling, absolutely indispensable. He spoke about god out of personal experience. We need to find a way of speaking credibly about god in the world. And i'm grateful to people of whatever faith who can do that for us. Also, i wrote a column this past week addressed primarily to young people. I very much had in mind the last paragraphs in heschel's recorded interview with karl sterne for the eternal light program That also appears in the collection edited by susannah heschel.
