C Sharp Programming and Net in C Sharp and Probably VB

I have a question, a pet peeve of mine about programming and net in C sharp and probably VB as well. Maybe functional theory can help me here? I'm supposed to be roughly what you describe as Link, isn't it? Because every time you use Link, it's actually creating another array based on the old one - which Link is entirely based on the functional paradigm as well. So use Link. It just seems like you're bumping up against features of the compiler or the anti features of the compilation that are trying to protect you from something,. But it should be doable.
