Jimmy Carter's Policy on Rodesia
Jimmy carter took office in 19 77 wanting to push rodesia toward majority rule, help achieve independence for nimibia and promote a gradual transformation of south african society. But instead he prioritised the removal of cuban troops from angola above all else. Why did his promise of change end up being just more business as usual? He wanted to show that he was a tough guy against culminis and anything that smelled commonism.
