What's Happening to People of Chinese Abstaining in Indonesia?
Most Chinese Indonesians living in Indonesia usually work as a businessman, or at least people who work in a private professional sector. People choosing to work in a public sector for Chinese Indonesian is rare. The Dutch government actually passed laws categorizing people based on their ethnic groups with different rules and regulations for each group. And so even after Indonesia gained independence in 1949, it has been really hard for Australians of Chinese descent to expand into other parts of the economy.
