Beck's Underground Maps

In 1931, Beck presented his first version of the map. His superiors thought it was too revolutionary and didn't think people would understand it. He tried again in 1933 - same year that London passenger transport board was created. And maybe it was just the right thing at the right time, and they agreed to print it for a trial run. But thank goodness he persevere because we might still be fumbling around in the dark otherwise.
