The Importance of Early Passive Extension

On the rehabilitation we want to emphasize early passive extension but emphasize closed chain exercises and avoid the open chain at terminal degrees of extension. Female athletes have a fivefold increase in ACL tears and you can avoid that by working on plyometrics especially working on how that athletes land. You have them land in less extension more flexion and also to absorb the blow and avoid the valve position which causes ACL injuries. Again seated leg extensions should be avoided because these are open chain exercises that are done near terminal extension. We'll move on to the next question.
