30 girls came forward to testify against the men who murdered Jessica Lal. But 18 of them were scared into silence by their families or paid large sums of money. The case now stood on the testimony of two girls against a group of 18 powerful men including Paruk, Anwar and Nafis. Six years later in 1998, there was a verdict in the case and all men were sentenced to life in prison. And so suddenly upon the announcement of the verdict, Paruk Chishti's lawyer claimed that Paruk had developed Skids of Rennie.
