Krasas was a kind of modern politician in the ancient world who is worth thinking about. He gained a fortune partly by politics and he used it for politics while other people were going around conquering other countries. His big break was in the early days before he was born, in his father's day. When Krasas was in his mid-20s he had a lucky break. The dictator who took over a man called Sulla gave him a lot of rope or freedom to buy up and exploit.
