In 19 84, you started thinking about collecting oral histories of women. We began because post missus gundy's asassination, there was another kind of communal carnage which took place against the six. And it was the widows of 19 84 who alerted us to the fact by saying that this was a repeat of the partition violets. What they said was, we thought we had left all that behind, and here it is again. That got us thinking about what it is that actually a this violence, this level of communal, ethnic, a religion based violence, means but what does it entail for women?
