The half-life of naloxone is about 60 minutes. Heroin, I didn't know this actually until today, heroin actually only has a half- life of about 10 minutes. Its half-life is 24 hours. And so the take-home from that is be very, very scared of someone who's taken a methadone overdose because the management of that case is not going to be fixed simply by one dose of Naloxone. So basically for this sedative toxidrom, obviously you get the depressions, the CNS respiratory and then benzos and barbiturates.
