The Importance of Global History

We are again on the cusp of a period in which we may well need global history, says Sir Paul Nurse. The European Union suggests that everyone should know about European history but everything else outside that isn't necessary. We're also faced with increasing numbers of divisions across the globe - hardening our senses of identity. And it's also because at the same time we're facing an increasing number of challenges and issues that can only be assessed through a more global approach.
