The Dangers of Heat Alerts
More than 100 million Americans are under heat alerts with triple digit feel like temperatures in 16 states. Arizona the hot spot for record breaking heat approaching 120 degrees. The National Weather Service says heat is the top weather-related killer each year. Vermont remains in a state of emergency with officials just beginning to assess the damage from those historic floods.
