What's the Overarching Problem in This First Seminar on Essays on Tech?

Lacan is trying to take back the ego back to the terrain of psychoanalysis and taking it away from developments in ego psychology. He doesn't develop his own terminology, he uses words that he will later reject. Even if he does like maybe there's something I'm missing where, you know, he's, I mean, he does talk about his own ideas of like the imaginary symbolic and real. But he wants to stick with showing that this is the proper reading of Freud not him imposing something on Freud.
