The Advantages of Animation
In animation, both in animation and in live filmmaking, the frame rate is usually 24 frames per second. And in animation, basically most of the time we kind of double the frame rate. So that makes it like 12 frames per second because we have double image in each like second. In trying to emulate the 2D style of animation, they actually tone down the frame rates back to 12 frames a second. That time, you kind of feel like it's a little bit choppy, but at the same time, it sells more that illusion that it has been done by hand. We still need that illusion today.
