The Hype-Rational Tax on Carbon Credits
There's a virtually infinite supply of would-be sellers, you know, communities, countries, states, municipalities now that are trying to get a little bit of money. So there's lots of people trying to sell carbon credits. And at the same time, you have the buyers who, by virtue of being for-profit companies, have to search for the cheapest offsets. Some of them are buying what they call premium offsets that include things like promises to abide by human rights and give people consent over these projects. It strikes me that this is just, yeah, once again, this doesn't work.
