North Carolina State University found that bed bugs, in contrast with most other insects, tolerate incest and are able to genetically withstand the effect of inbreeding quite well. Charles Darwin guinea picked his wife and children to prove that inbreeding kills. But I don't think it was an unpleasant coincidence.
