The Role of Arthroscopic Debridement in the Treatment of Tissue Tears
Arthroscopic debridement is indicated for type 4 tears with greater than one-third of the biceps tendon involved causing severe symptoms that have failed non-operative management. Sutures are placed depending on tear anatomy, it's traditionally thought that sutures placed anterior to the biceps anchor risks increased stiffness postoperatively. Over drilling the glenoid can cause injury to the superscapular nerve.
