Transplant Surgery - What Has the Word Surgeon Meaned?
The history of transplant surgery from 16th century to the present day. A surgeon is basically someone who cures bodily diseases using their hands, it literally means hand working. John Hunter was the first surgeon to really trust his senses when he found a lump on David Hume's abdomen in 1776. He didn't need those sort of ancient texts to tell him that it was a tumor.
