Moving National Treasures Out of London
Museums and curators involved were very up moving them out of london, because they saw what was going on in europe. They knew that certain forms of art were going to be targeted by the nartes. But actually the one of the biggest obstacles was how these things would be packed up and then despatched to the countryside. So one of the great developments in the late 19 thirties was some called the no nails box - which sounds extremely mundane now but is a completely new idea.
