Is Xbox Game Pass a Money Loser?

Microsoft has sworn up and down that it will not restrict Call of Duty from PlayStation. Some folks have pointed out that if Microsoft includes Call of Duty games on day one on its Game Pass subscription, it could hurt PlayStation sales. Back in 2018, Xbox head Phil Schiller said releasing a game on Game Pass increased sales. The report also notes that Activision historically opposed including games in its subscription services or in other subscription services because it severely cannibalizes sales of games.
