Is Byback a Dumb Tax?
Altenelay: I worry that it's the camel's nose underneath the tent. The whole narrative that companies are spending all their money on bybacks just falls apart when you look at the numbers. Altenelay, i've said number of occasions that there is no way the fed will push as hard from above their two % target as they pushed from below. It was costless to push from one and a half to two by pushing from three and a half down to two. That'll be really brutal.
