The Story of Jothi Singh
Jothi Singh died 17 days after she was raped by six men in India. She had undergone surgery to remove her intestines and suffered from sepsis. Her condition worsened so the Prime Minister sent her to Singapore for treatment. But something went wrong that Airplane tried to Singapore. Jothi's death did not mark the end, it marked the beginning of a new era. Four of the rapists were given the death penalty but one hung himself before trial even began. The fifth rapist who could not have been tried as a juvenile received three years behind bars. He now lives somewhere in South India where he works as a cook under a new name.
