The Government's Taking a Step Backwards
There's evidence growing that this is a more infectious strain. A larger number of people catching it is going to mean a larger proportion ending up in hospital than otherwise would have done. They really do seem finally to have learnt the lessons from the multiple times when, in retrospect, they clearly were far too slow.
