A lot of my sources are the problem is from the perspective of in Europeans. So you end up working with sources that are written either by people who kidnapped or accompanied or hadn't to see indigenous people in Europe. After 1542, when it becomes completely illegal to enslave indigenous people before that it was just legal under certain circumstances,. People start applying for their freedom. And so you get these very legalized but amazing testimonies of indigenous people across Central South America explaining what happened to them.
