The White Revolution and Women's Rights

The Shah is not himself a feminist champion, nor does he particularly believe in women's rights. But it's part of this imperial imaginary. He uses the Empress, Paravid, these certain key crisis moments to show something like, you know, as the revolutionary sort of uprisings are increasing in fervor. So I think that gives a shape to where the Shah is at in terms of the question of gender more directly.
