Is the 1619 Project a Good Idea?
The 1619 project says American history begins properly in 1619 when the first slave stepped off the first boat onto American soil. If you think race plays a pivotal role, why not 1860? 1865 is the year you really want to consider because that was the year that the last slave was freed. And yet 87 years later, slavery was gone.
