The Importance of Challenges in Umpiring
Major League Baseball umpires accuracy rate last year was 97.6% according to metrics provided by the league umpires. Right now, 5.4 challenges per game are being used and those challenges have been successful only 44% of the time. Izzy: If this ever gets implemented at the Major League Baseball level, you know you're going to have analysts telling your guys not to challenge on egregious misses.
