The Art of the Print Shops
Many considered satire to be a low form of art. But artists like James Gilray, Thomas Rowlandson and Isaac Crookshack rethought the whole satire world. They took what was basically something that was done by tradesmen just sold in shops on the cheap and they really elevated it. And so we had this new kind of art which was enjoyed not only by ordinary people but also royals, dukes who would pass these satires through their glove towns at the breakfast table or in a ball.
