The eagle vision is actually in the apocrypha. It's not as obscure as maybe some people think that it really is. The theme of martyrdom, both of the jewish community and of gentiles who have pledged allegiance to the god of israel,. And this obviously comes to define the lot of the book as well. i suppose this is throughout history, interpreted in a very different way than jewish escodologically.
