Are Private Nursing Homes a Good Example of Federalism?
Sally Kohn: Federalism arguments are clearly not just serving the states, right? She says there are a whole bunch of private for-profit companies that are deeply enmeshed with what states are doing vis-a-vis the welfare state. Kohn: I even pulled Mario Cuomo's address to the New York State Senate in 1984 from my notes and research on the institutionalization in nursing homes and long-term care.
