Since published in 19 54, the loards of the rings books have sold over a hundred 50 million copies. In 19 69, tolkin sold the movie rights to his series for just over one million dollars. Amazon isa much larger business, obviously, and it announced that it had won the novels t v writes. The cost equates to income from around five point one million prime subscriptions.
