By the 1930s, weed was public enemy number one. The side effects of smoking marijuana were seen as a menace to society. This largely came as a reaction to alcohol prohibition. To understand how weed got a bad rap, we need to understand how it was first introduced to the American public. We need to travel back hundreds of years because hemp is our country's oldest crops.
