The Hunger of Zeus

Tantalus was killed by Zeus for killing his son and serving him to the gods. He stood in a pool of water up to his chin, but it receded underneath him until his face once again hit the dry ground. When he noticed delicious fruit hanging just above him, he decided to help himself - only to find that they were all gone. The Olympians later put Tantalus back together after Demeter gave him an ivory shoulder; Rhea breathed life into him while Poseidon made pellets out of Pellets.
