DESI Is Helping Us Understand Dark Energy

DESI collects light from deep in the universe with 5,000 optical fibers installed on a four meter telescope. It's adjusted by its own individual robot that is precise within 10 microns, which is less than a human hair. The sensitivity will allow us to differentiate things like the light of small stars being born from the glow of dust superheating as it enters a black hole. This will help us build a more accurate 3D model of the universe.
