Are You Thinking About Inflation in Emerging Markets?

Investors alive today who have dealt with inflationary recessions and the constraints imposed on their policymakers are all in emerging markets, right? They go through this routinely. People take on less debt naturally. The opposite of leverage is volatility and vice versa. That's really the trade off that's going to shape how inflation unfolds. It incentivizes policymakers to keep interest rates well below sort of nominal GDP growth or nominal cash flow growth. And so that at the same time, the principal value of all this debt that we've built up just gets grown into because of inflation.
