How to Be a Successful Touring Musician

We had the pleasure of interviewing Gable Price and Friends over Zoom video! "Ever since I was young, I lived with an overarching fear that the thing I was presently enjoying would lose its desired effect and fade away," remembers songwriter and frontman of the exuberant rock outfit Gable Price and Friends, Gable Price. "When our band started and began to gain momentum, it wasn't long before I slipped into the thought of 'What happens when this loses its steam?'" Eventually, Price came to grips with those obsessive thoughts and like any songwriter worth their weight, set it to music as the opening track, "Upside", off the band's new album The Consequence Of Being Alive—out now via Capitol CMG. With the release of The Consequence Of Being Alive, the band is redefining who Gable Price and Friends is. With a more indie-rock sound and songs that are less spiritual and more personal to Price's life, The Consequence Of Being Alive is a lesson in forging a new path. It doesn't hurt that there are some killer album credits, too. Gable's friend and mentor Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) is a featured artist on track #8 "How It Sets You Free," which they co-wrote together with Tim Foreman. Other noteworthy writing credits include Judah Akers (Judah & the Lion) on "I Don't Wanna Live Like This" and Caleb Chapman (Colony House) on "Tough Love." Gable Price and Friends know how to deliver songs that reverberate in our hearts and souls; Price's vocal phrasing matches the emotional tenor of every song perfectly, getting inside the lyrics, dwelling in them, and then singing them with the passion of one who's lived with the joy and pain they express. The songs on The Consequence Of Being Alive showcase the band's lyrical and musical genius, providing a soundtrack to the emotional highs and lows of our everyday lives.
